The importance of aquaculture

       Aquaculture is important because several things like:
1. The increasing need for fish,
2. Naturally catching fish decreases in certain species.
3. The continuity of the fish is not guaranteed if only relying on the catch from the wild.
4. To seek profit and increase job opportunities in aquaculture
5. Continued fishing will lead to over fishing.

       There’re some factors that influence on aquaculture development:
1. Natural resources, farming, cultivation of organisms.
2. Human resource, customs people, ability to implement aquaculture technology.
3. Knowledge of science and technology, engineering, food science,
4. Facilities and infrastructure
5. Investment costs.

Basic knowledge for fish cultivation

       For the cultivation of fish, a fish farmer must have knowledge about the physiology and biology of fish. The knowledge of the physiology of fish to be cultivated is important to have that fish farmers can determine maintenance techniques, characteristics and types of fish feed to be given. Some fish species may have different need for types of feed or maintenance of cultivation media or environments.
